If you’re like me and aren’t into a lot of bells and whistles, this is a great little GPS unit. I was a little skeptical because of the price, but a friend of mine has a Magellan (a higher unit) and loves it. Right out of the box, it was easy to set up and get going. It’s very intuitive to use. So far, I haven’t been directed to drive into the middle of a lake like one of our units from another GPS company did. The only negative thing I have found is that once in a while the unit “freezes” when you power up if you haven’t used it for a few days and you have to run a test on the screen to get it unstuck. It’s probably something boneheaded I’m doing when I turn it off and not the unit’s fault.

I have had this unit for over 2 years now. I works pretty well once it acquires the satellite signal. It takes about 1-4 minutes to lock on satellites.
I have had trouble with the power cradle as DC in pin somehow got bend and is now broken. It costs $70 for a new cradle, so I decided to get a DC jack and solder it. It seems I am not the only one with this problem, search google.
Would I buy this specific model again? No. Simply because their are newer, better and cheaper gps sets available now.

Before I show you the GPS Prices From Ebay (which are below) here’s a Tip - Know what you want and need before buying and know that you are are buying the right GPS.
The last GPS I purchased has problems with search. It takes a very long time to find a place 200 miles away from my location.
For example, if you type “tire”, it will find tire store 200 miles from my home.
The one I bought two years ago can do all the search but that GPS had some problems with the touch screen.
So now I need to put two GPS units in the same car. Don’t make this mistake. Pay a little more and buy what you need.

Prima is a good company and this is a good case, though it’s not quite perfect. While the fit is quite exact, I find it’s not quite as snug as I would like, which makes it pretty easy for dust and debris to get into the case. For example, the edges can flip up as I’m stowing my touch in my pocket, letting crud get trapped between the case and the iPod, which can’t be good for the finish.
I also found that while the silicone texture provides excellent grip, that same grip creates a lot of friction when trying to slip my iPod into a pocket or tight space. So your precious iPod will be less likely to slip from your fingers, but it’s also harder to access, which I think is not a good trade-off because the iPod touch can’t really be operated without holding and seeing it (i.e., you can’t easily change the volume or skip a track while it’s in your pocket), so I’m always putting it away and retrieving it.
In the end I opted for a clear hard case from another maker.

I purchased this Garmin as a replacement for my 660 which died an early death.
I purchased a nuvi again because I had become used to the first one and it did
work well for the 2 and a half years before it started asking me if we were in Kansas!!
No, we were in VA.
This one is pretty much the same as the other. However it does have a speed limit box which gives you the limit of the road on which you are driving. It also has a place you can press to give you
your current location immediately and the location of the closest Hospital, Fuel etc. Both of these
features are very helpful.
I find that I have to press the screen a little harder than on the Nuvi 660 which can be
annoying and I also find that the letters for spelling out the address are a little smaller
leading to more redoing.
I would recommend this very simple and relatively inexpensive nuvi to anyone who needs to know BOTH where they are AND how to get someplace. Some of the less expensive ones are really only good at telling you how to get someplace. I personally need both. Because you can press on the screen and
move the map around you can better explore your current location.
I believe this model may be discontinued but the price was good and the product very acceptable.

We recently used this item for vacation. We just loved it.
It helped us from getting lost and we were able to find where we wanted/needed to go.
The speed function also helped us from going too fast over the speed limit.
I would recommend this product for travelers even once a year ones like we are.
The only problem with this item is I did not update it before we left and there were some street changes made, so actually it was my fault.

My Navigon 8100T purchased in mid Feb 09 failed a month ago due to an internal short around the connection pins. It got hot enough to blister the plastic around these pins and around the in car mount. Potentially a fire hazard!!! Call the 888 - 848 - 0701 number and it referred all service requests to their website. Sent them over 6 email requesting service during the past 1 month & got not one response! Not even the form letter response! Did a search through the Better Business Bureau & Navigon is no longer within their US business listing.
I would recommend everyone who have recently bought a Navigon GPS unit verifying their warranty status through their seller. Return for a refund if at all possible.
$400 is a lot of money to waste on a none warrantied electronic device.
