I’ve used many GPS’s, But this one is 100% faster in acquiring the signal. And battery life is pretty good and the waterproof thing is amazing while i mostly use it for fishing.
Highly recommended ..

I use my 276C exclusively for boating, and it performs admirably. Once you figure out how to navigate the menu screens, you can take advantage of some very powerful options which you would only expect to see on higher end GPS models. Overall, I am very pleased - setup was a breeze, never a problem with position refresh, battery life is good, data is accurate, signal strength is fantastic in my boating area, and I really like the fact that nearly every screen is customizable.
However, in order to take advantage of the 276C’s many IMPORTANT features you should plan on spending (quite) a few more $$$. For starters, the marine base map is garbage for those who boat offshore or cruise the coast. I wasn’t expecting much in the marine base map department going into the purchase, but for those that are expecting this, plan to pony up an additional $150 for a (proprietary) data card which gives you the detail you’ll need to navigate the waters safely. Also, the absence of a 12v adaptor is a real miss. Given the unit is marketed as “portable”, why Garmin opted to not include one is a mystery to me. So, plan on spending another $25 for that. If you plan on using this GPS for boating I would recommend the display cover… another $20.
One of the more powerful feature I plan to utilize in the near future is the sonar function. To enable this feature, you’ll need Garmins analog scanner (GSD-21) and a suitable transponder. One other feature I enjoy is the mapsource software that came with the unit. From this, you are able to upload your trips to the computer. From there you can analyze your trip - it even interfaces with google maps to provide a real-life view of your excursion. Pretty cool stuff.

This is my second Lowrance GPS. The iFINDER Go2 is a good gps for the money. It picked up the sattelites quickly including WAAS. Excellent battery life. Easy to use but the screen could be bigger. I would buy another GPS from Lowrance.

On a 2,000 mile trip over 5 states, there were two minor incidents of Garmin not knowing where we were. This was very short lived, and we were easily able to continue our navigation until the Garmin caught up. Good long battery life and the windshield mount was very effective. Overall, it made a road trip very enjoyable.

I purchased a factory refurbished Garmin Nuvi 350 in July 2009. This was my first time owning, but not using, a GPS. I received the product fairly quickly and in great shape, no scratches or screen problems. It came with a GPS to computer cable, a dashboard and windshield mount, a car charger, a carrying case, and a small pamphlet of information (the manual is on the GPS memory/or online). It also came with the North American 2009 maps. I tested out connecting to my computer and even adding mp3 files, all good so far. However, when I used it on a test drive it lost its signal on a long, open stretch of road and need to be turned off and reset. It also was difficult to hear when using with the windows down, but that is sort of expected.
Pros:
Good screen brightness.
Included all accessories and new maps.
Mounts easily and effectively.
Announces the Street names before turning.
Good Battery life.
Cons:
Sometimes loses signal and needs to be turned off, and or reset(hard to do while driving).
Low volume if driving with windows down.
ABC, not QWERTY on screen keyboard.
Have to press Warning agree button every time turned on.
Released in 2005.
Neither:
From pressing the On button until Maps are loaded it takes about 30-40 seconds.
Flip up antenna.
Overall at this point it is only OK for me, I will need to test it out more to see if it loses it signal more times when I am driving (about 4 times so far), but that is the my biggest problem with it.
