This is the one you’re looking for. Now I KNOW where my teenager daughter is, and how fast she’s driving. Very reasonable at $300. Very reasonable at $15 a month unlimited tracking. When they get where they’re going, you arm it on the internet or with your cell phone. When they get in the car to go (motion detector), it sends a text to your cell phone. When they go 200 yards, you get another text. You can track them on an iPhone or computer. You can even request an address with your cell phone via text and get the address in a minute or two. These folks thought of everything.
Figure on three days of battery time. I’m going to hard-wire mine when she goes out of town next week. Easy.
Buy this.

Review:
This was my first car-type GPS and I’ve used it for both long distance and local directions. It has been exceptionally helpful in driving thru large cities on the free-ways by anticipating what lane you need to be in … particularly helpful when pulling a trailer. But it has some weakness in cities as it will tell you to exit one street too soon where streets are close together.
Its major weakness is that it can give you seriously wrong routing choices. For example, it got me “lost” in Washington DC going in both directions, north and south on I-95, lost in the sense that I ended up on city streets when all I wanted to do was by-pass the city. Routing in remote rural areas is worthless … maybe even dangerously wrong …. adding 100 miles to a 160 mile trip, for example. Routing between Kansas City and Lincoln, NE …. it chose to go up thru Omaha when there is a VASTLY better route.
I’ve found it best, on long distance trips, to use Mapquest and then manually enter segments of the trip onto the TomTom using their “navigate to” option. Even then, I sometimes have to refer to my printed Mapquest directions rather than follow the TomTom.

I purchased this Garmin as a replacement for my 660 which died an early death.
I purchased a nuvi again because I had become used to the first one and it did
work well for the 2 and a half years before it started asking me if we were in Kansas!!
No, we were in VA.
This one is pretty much the same as the other. However it does have a speed limit box which gives you the limit of the road on which you are driving. It also has a place you can press to give you
your current location immediately and the location of the closest Hospital, Fuel etc. Both of these
features are very helpful.
I find that I have to press the screen a little harder than on the Nuvi 660 which can be
annoying and I also find that the letters for spelling out the address are a little smaller
leading to more redoing.
I would recommend this very simple and relatively inexpensive nuvi to anyone who needs to know BOTH where they are AND how to get someplace. Some of the less expensive ones are really only good at telling you how to get someplace. I personally need both. Because you can press on the screen and
move the map around you can better explore your current location.
I believe this model may be discontinued but the price was good and the product very acceptable.

I bought this Garmin c330 as a gift for my dad - he loves it and uses it all the time. Talk about simple. The easy-to-use StreetPilot c330 comes pre-programmed with detailed maps. Often he gets lost in his thoughts or misses a turn, this will reroute you and send you back on your way if you need to. It also comes with updating software, and my dad reports that even dirt roads will show up on the maps (don’t know how well it works in the city). This device charges in its cradle/mounting device.

We recently used this item for vacation. We just loved it.
It helped us from getting lost and we were able to find where we wanted/needed to go.
The speed function also helped us from going too fast over the speed limit.
I would recommend this product for travelers even once a year ones like we are.
The only problem with this item is I did not update it before we left and there were some street changes made, so actually it was my fault.

We didn’t need to order this product, since the Garmin already had one included in its package - now, how did I miss that?
Garmin Nuvi
As we’ve come to expect from the Nuvi line, the Garmin Nuvi 880 offers an impressive feature list and solid performance, but it’s the accurate speech recognition that really pushes the Nuvi 880 over the edge and makes it one of the best GPS we’ve tested to date.

TomTom - GPS receiver
The TomTom One 125 isn’t the newest or flashiest portable navigation device on the market, but that’s OK. Not everyone needs the latest or greatest. What the One 125 offers is a solid, entry-level GPS for first-time buyers or for those looking for the most basic navigation functions.

This little gadget works even better than expected. It stays nicely on the dashboard even when taking sharp turns. Easy to hook up and move from 1 vehicle to the next.

Works as advertised. Takes some work to understand the program. Crashed a few times on me when running from a folder and not from the disk, as the program doesn’t install onto hard drive.
Pros - Distance and trail plotting is awesome! Elevation profiles are a must have! Search locations. Label routs and add color coded objects (ie. arrows, icons, and flag/name routs objects.
Cons - Only 4 zoom levels. Resolution of maps when printed could be better. Needs more options.
